Lennox mini-split installation in Ventura typically runs $3,500 to $7,500 depending on the system size, the number of indoor units, and how much line-set work your home needs. We stock Lennox-compatible parts on our trucks and can usually schedule installation within a few days, not weeks. Most Ventura homeowners call us when their existing mini-split stops cooling one room, starts leaking condensate onto drywall, or makes a grinding noise that tells you the blower motor bearings are done.

If you’re reading this, you probably already know something is wrong. You might have a Lennox unit that worked fine through three summers and now struggles on the afternoons when the Santa Anas push temperatures into the 90s. Or you’ve got a compressor that short-cycles, a line set that’s leaking, or an indoor head unit that’s frozen into a block of ice. This page tells you exactly what we do, what it costs in Ventura, and what to expect when we come out.
Quick point before we get into it: Brandt HVAC Co Ventura is an independent service provider. We install and service Lennox mini-splits, and we stock the parts to do it properly, but we’re not affiliated with Lennox Corporation. That matters because it means we’re free to tell you when a repair makes sense and when it doesn’t.
Which Lennox Models This Applies To
Lennox builds mini-splits under the MLA and MPB series, along with the newer MPA single-zone and multi-zone lines. If you look at the sticker on the side of your outdoor condenser, you’ll see the model number printed there. It starts with something like MLA018S4S or MPB024S4S. That number tells us the cooling capacity in BTUs and the generation of the unit, which determines what parts fit.
Here’s the gotcha most Ventura homeowners don’t know: Lennox minis are built by rebadging equipment from a major worldwide manufacturer, and the internal parts often cross-reference to equivalent units from that manufacturer. That means an OEM Lennox part can cost 40 to 60 percent more than the same physical part sold under the manufacturer’s own brand. In most cases, we can offer you the aftermarket equivalent at a meaningful savings, and we carry both options on the truck. We’ll tell you the real difference and let you decide. If you’d rather keep everything OEM-Lennox labeled, we do that too and never push back.
Another thing worth knowing: early Lennox mini-split generations from the 2010s had more proprietary control boards than current models do. If you own one of those older systems and it loses a board, the replacement may cost as much as a whole new indoor head unit. When that happens, we walk you through the math honestly instead of quietly selling you a part that makes no financial sense.
We also carry parts for Carrier and Trane systems if you happen to have a mixed-brand setup at the same property.

Signs Your Lennox Mini-Split Installation Is Failing
- One room won’t cool while others do. With a multi-zone system, this usually points to a failed expansion valve or a low refrigerant charge in that branch. The compressor is running, but the indoor coil isn’t getting cold enough to do anything useful.
- Water dripping from the indoor head. In Ventura’s humid late-summer weeks, a clogged condensate line or a cracked drain pan shows up fast. If the unit is mounted above drywall or a finished floor, this becomes a water-damage problem, not just an HVAC problem.
- Ice forming on the indoor coil or the line set. This almost always means low refrigerant or restricted airflow. Running it this way can kill the compressor, and a mini-split compressor replacement is often more than half the cost of a new system.
- Grinding, rattling, or clicking from the indoor blower. The blower wheel bearings wear out, especially on units near the beach where salt air sits on everything. You’ll hear it before you feel the cooling loss, which is actually lucky.
- The outdoor unit runs constantly but the room stays warm. This can be a failed reversing valve, a bad capacitor, or a refrigerant leak that’s been ignored too long. The outdoor unit is working, but it’s not moving heat anymore.

For a full Lennox mini-split installation in Ventura, expect to spend between $3,500 and $7,500. The range comes down to system size (12,000 BTU single-zone is the low end; a 36,000 BTU four-zone setup is the high end), whether we’re replacing an existing system or installing a brand-new line set, and how far the indoor and outdoor units sit from each other.
Here’s how that breaks down in real Ventura dollars:
- Single-zone, 12,000 BTU installation: from $3,500
- Dual-zone replacement with existing line set: $4,500 – $5,500
- Four-zone install, new line sets, wall penetrations: $6,000 – $7,500
Every estimate from Brandt HVAC Co Ventura comes as a written price before we start any work. No exceptions, no “we’ll see how it goes,” no surprise line items. The price covers the equipment, the line set if needed, the electrical connection, the vacuum and leak test, the refrigerant charge, and a full system start-up. It also comes with our written guarantee on labor and a manufacturer’s warranty on parts. If the installation fails within 365 days, we come back at no charge under our 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s what we stand behind.
DIY or Call Us?
Mini-split installation is not a weekend project for most homeowners, and I’ll tell you straight: this is one area where DIY goes wrong in expensive ways. The line-set connections require a vacuum pump, a micron gauge, and the skills to flare copper cleanly under pressure. A slow refrigerant leak from a bad flare won’t show up for weeks, and by then you’ve lost the charge and possibly the compressor. Electrical work means a dedicated circuit, and the refrigerant itself is regulated and not something you can buy without an EPA certification.
What you can do yourself: clean the washable filters, check that the outdoor unit isn’t blocked by leaves or trim, and verify that water is draining from the condensate line when the unit runs. Those are worth doing monthly out here, because Ventura’s marine layer and pollen seasons load up coils quickly. But when it comes to cutting refrigerant lines and handling electrical, call someone who does this every day. We work on Lennox mini-splits across Ventura County, from the Harbor to the east end, and we’ll tell you what it is, tell you what it costs, and stand behind the work.

FAQs
In coastal California air, a properly installed Lennox mini-split typically lasts 12 to 15 years before the compressor or reversing valve fails, though units right on the beach can lose a couple of years to salt corrosion on the outdoor coil. Regular coil cleaning and keeping the fins clear of debris extends that lifespan measurably. If yours is past year 12 and losing refrigerant, replacement usually beats repair on the math.
It depends on what failed. A bad capacitor, a leaky Schrader valve, or a clogged drain line is a straightforward repair that costs a couple hundred dollars and buys you years. A dead compressor or a corroded outdoor coil on a 12-year-old system costs enough to fix that replacement starts looking like the smarter money. We’ll give you both prices in writing and let you decide without pressure.
Most single-zone installations take one day from start to finish, including the vacuum and leak test and system start-up. A four-zone install with new line sets through exterior walls can take two days. We’ll tell you the window on the estimate and we stick to it.
We stock common Lennox-compatible parts including capacitors, control boards, blower wheels, drain pumps, and line-set components, in both OEM and quality aftermarket options. For compressors and less common parts, we can usually have them in hand within two to three business days. Call us at (831) 539-0291 and we’ll check stock for your specific model before we schedule anything.
