Rheem mini-split installation in Ventura typically runs $3,500 – $7,500 for a complete single-zone system, depending on the unit’s BTU capacity and how much line-set work your home requires. We stock Rheem-compatible mounting hardware, line sets, condensate pumps, and electrical disconnects on our trucks, so most single-zone installs are done in a day once your equipment is on hand. Homeowners usually find this page because their existing mini-split has stopped cooling, started leaking water onto the floor, or the compressor outside has gone silent while the indoor unit still blows air.

Which Rheem Models This Applies To
We install and service the full Rheem mini-split line: the Classic Series, the Prestige Series, and the high-efficiency Endeavor line, covering wall-mounted, ceiling cassette, and floor-mounted indoor units from 9,000 BTU up to 36,000 BTU per zone. The compatibility gotcha most Ventura homeowners don’t know: Rheem mini-splits use specific line-set sizing per BTU class. A 9k or 12k unit takes a 1/4″ liquid line and 3/8″ suction line, but jump to 18k and you’re looking at 1/4″ by 1/2″. Mismatched line sets starve the compressor of refrigerant and kill the unit early. For OEM versus aftermarket, we default to Rheem OEM parts for anything that touches refrigerant or electronics – expansion valves, boards, sensors. For mounting brackets, line-set covers, and condensate drain fittings, quality aftermarket equivalents from DiversiTech or equivalent suppliers hold up just as well and save you real money. Your model number is on a white label on the right side of the indoor unit. We’ll match it before we touch anything.
Brandt HVAC Co Ventura is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Rheem. We also stock parts for Carrier, Trane, and Lennox systems.

Signs Your Rheem Mini-Split Installation Is Failing
- Water dripping from the indoor unit. In Ventura’s coastal humidity, condensate drains clog with algae and dust faster than inland. The drain pan overfills and water runs down your wall. This is the single most common mini-split failure we see in homes near the harbor and along the Avenue.
- Outdoor unit runs, indoor unit doesn’t blow cold. Usually a refrigerant leak at a flare fitting or a failed reversing valve. The compressor is working, but there’s nothing moving heat. Left alone, the compressor burns itself out trying.
- Indoor unit blows air but not cold air, and the outdoor unit is silent. Bad capacitor, failed control board, or a tripped overload. These are electrical failures – not something to poke at with a screwdriver.
- Ice forming on the evaporator coil or the line set. Low refrigerant or a blocked air filter is causing the coil to freeze. Once it ices over, the system is doing nothing useful and you’re paying for it.
- Constant clicking or ticking from the indoor unit right when it should start cooling. A failing blower motor or a stepper motor in the louver assembly. It’s noisy at first, then it quits entirely.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included
A complete Rheem mini-split install in Ventura lands between $3,500 and $7,500 for a single-zone system. What drives the spread: the BTU rating you need (a 9k bedroom unit costs far less than a 36k unit for a big living space), whether we’re running a new 220v circuit from your panel, and how far the line set has to travel from the outside unit to the indoor head. If you already have a working electrical disconnect and a short line set path, you’re at the bottom of that range. Every quote from us is a written price before any work starts – you see the equipment cost, the labor, and the materials line by line. And the install is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something we installed fails within a year, we return and fix it at no charge. No argument, no callback fee.

There are two things you can safely do yourself before calling us: check that the air filter isn’t clogged, and confirm the breaker for the outdoor unit hasn’t tripped. Beyond that, mini-split work gets dangerous fast. These systems run on 220 volts and hold refrigerant under pressure. A botched flare fitting or an overcharged line can send liquid refrigerant where it shouldn’t go, or put a live wire in your hand. If the problem is electrical or refrigerant-related, call (831) 539-0291. We’ll tell you what it is, what it costs, and stand behind the work.

FAQs
A properly installed Rheem mini-split in Ventura typically lasts 12 to 18 years. The coastal marine layer is the quiet killer: salt air accelerates corrosion on outdoor coils and electrical connections, especially for homes within a mile or two of Ventura Harbor. Units closer to the water need annual coil cleaning and more frequent capacitor replacements. Call (831) 539-0291 and we’ll give you an honest read on your unit’s remaining life.
Yes, in most cases a failing mini-split can be repaired if the compressor hasn’t burned out and the coil isn’t leaking in multiple places. Repairs on Rheem mini-splits in Ventura generally run $150 – $650 depending on the part. Capacitors, boards, sensors, and flare fitting leaks are all repairable same-day. A failed compressor on an 8+ year old unit usually means replacement makes more sense. We’ll tell you which side of that line your system is on before we touch a wrench.
A single-zone Rheem mini-split installation usually takes 4 to 6 hours once the equipment is on site. That includes mounting the indoor head, running the line set and drain, setting the outdoor unit, pulling a vacuum on the lines, and testing the system under load. Multi-zone systems take a full day or more. We’ll give you a set install date when you sign the written quote.
Yes, we stock Rheem-compatible mounting plates, line sets, condensate pumps, flare fittings, and electrical disconnects on our trucks. If your install needs a specific Rheem OEM board or sensor that we don’t have on hand, we can typically source it same-day through our supply partners in Ventura.
