We’re a small crew, and that’s deliberate. Every technician you see at your door in Ventura is someone we’ve trained, background-checked, and trust to work in your home without supervision. Devin Marlowe started this location with a simple rule: hire people who’d fix a stranger’s furnace the same way they’d fix their grandmother’s. That means showing up when we say we will, writing down a price before touching a single component, and not leaving until the system actually works. You’ll see the same faces year after year. That’s the point.

Our People
Devin Marlowe, Owner
Devin has been turning wrenches in residential HVAC since before smart thermostats were a thing people argued about at dinner parties. He earned his contractor’s license after years in the field and opened the Ventura location under the Threshold Group umbrella because he wanted to run a shop where the person answering the phone knew what a condenser coil was. Devin still rides along on calls when the schedule gets tight, which keeps him honest about what his techs deal with daily. He’s the one who’ll tell you a furnace from the Clinton administration has had a good run, but it’s time to talk about a replacement. Written price before any work starts? That’s his rule, and he’s never once bent it.
Marco R., Lead Technician
Marco has been with Brandt HVAC since the Ventura location opened its doors, and before that he spent close to a decade doing residential service across Southern California. He holds EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling, which matters when your AC is low on charge and you want the job done legally and correctly. Marco’s specialty is diagnostic work: he’s the one who finds the intermittent electrical fault that two other companies missed. Outside of work, Marco restores old motorcycles and has strong opinions about which taco stands along Ventura Avenue are worth your time. He’s usually right.
Nina S., Service Coordinator
Nina is the voice on the phone when you call Brandt HVAC at (831) 539-0291. She’s been with the team for years and knows the schedule, the service area, and which technician to send based on the problem you’re describing. Before joining us, Nina spent several years doing dispatch for a plumbing company, so she’s heard every home-emergency story there is and none of them rattle her. She’s the reason you get a name and a photo of your technician before they arrive, and the reason you’re not left on hold wondering if anyone is coming. Nina also runs the warranty paperwork so the 365-Day Done Right Promise isn’t just a phrase, it’s something we track and honor.
Luis T., Installer and Apprentice
Luis joined Brandt HVAC as an apprentice after finishing trade school, and he’s now running full system replacements alongside Marco and Devin on larger projects. He’s earned his universal EPA certification and is working through additional manufacturer training on heat pump and ductless systems. Luis is careful in a way you can’t teach: he labels wires, photographs his work before closing a wall, and leaves the jobsite cleaner than he found it. On weekends, Luis coaches youth soccer in Oxnard and is known for bringing a cooler of cold drinks for the crew on August afternoons when the attic work gets brutal.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Brandt HVAC location operates independently, but the standard for who we send to your door is the same across the network. It’s called the Threshold Verified standard, and it means three things: every technician is background-checked and identity-verified, every visit is introduced by name and photo before anyone shows up, and every tech wears a photo ID badge they’ll show you without being asked. If someone arrives at your Ventura home claiming to be from Brandt HVAC and you weren’t told to expect them, that visit is on us. No exceptions, no fine print. Devin enforces this personally, because a uniform doesn’t mean much if you can’t verify the person wearing it. We’d rather lose a job than send someone unvetted into your home.
Our techs aren’t paid on commission, which means nobody at Brandt HVAC has an incentive to sell you a repair you don’t need. The written price comes before the work starts, every time, on every job. The written guarantee comes with every repair. And if a repair fails, we return free of charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s the deal, and every person on this team knows it better than they know their own coffee order.
